Yesudas completes 50 years in music field

Gana Gandharvan of Malayalam, K.J. Yesdas has completed fifty years in music field. It was on 14 th of November 1961, he sang the first song `Jathibhedam mathadwesham ethumillathe sarvarum sotharathwena vazhunna mathrika sthanamanith', the sloka of Sree Narayana Guru at Chennai Bharani studio for the film `Kalpadukal' and he believes his luck stands in this song. After 50 years, as usual he reached at SS Studio in Thiruvanathapuram to record the song `Nee padathe paadunna paattil, ee cholagal chaanjadum chandham.. for the upcoming film `Mallu Singh', directed by Vaisakh, for the lyrics penned by Murukan Kattakada. It is a duet with Shreya Ghoshal. M.Jaya Chandran has scored the music.Yesudas has sung almost all Indian languages except Kashmiri and Assamese and he also sung some foreign launguage songs including Russian. There are about 50,000 songs to his credit.
