Thikkurissi award for Mammootty

The first Thikkurissi awards instituted by Thikkurissi foundation were announced. Mamootty will receive the Thikurussi Puraskar given for comprehensive achievement in the film field. It includes a purse of Rs. One lakh, statuette and a citation. The awards were announced by foundation chairman Kayikkara Babu, Chunakkara Raman Kuttty and Ravi Vallathol at a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram. Other awards: Best actor award goes to Salim Kumar (Adaminte Makan Abu). Best actress is Kavya Madhavan (Gaddama). Best supporting actor is Jayasurya (Beautiful) and supporting actress is Kathal Sandhya (Traffic). Best popular male artiste is Jagathy Sreekumar (Various films) and female artiste is Nithya Menon (Various films). Best film is `Adaminte Makan Abu'. Best director is Salim Ahmed (Adaminte Makan Abu). Best music director is Bennet Veetrag (Gaddama). Best script writer is Anoop Menon (Beautiful). Best cinematographer award goes to Jomon T. John (Beautiful). Best male playback singer is Karthik (Gaddama) and female playback singer is K.S.Chitra (Gaddama). Debutant actor award went to Unni Mukundan.
