State award winners honoured

The winner of this year's state best female playback singer Rajalakshmi and best music composer M. Jayachandran were honoured at Thiruvnanthapuram in a function organised by FRAME.
M.Jaya Chandran's first guru Perumbavoor G. Ravidranath also participated in the function. Minister K.B. Ganeshkumar in his speech said, an artiste who wants to reach a height should be aware of his past and look down. M.Jaya Chandran in his reply speech recollected the day he happened to see music director Ilaiyarja, once busily engaged in the field, sittting idly all alone at Chennai railway station. This is the practice of the industry. It would go to another for their needs without considering the past for the race. He continued that his strength is the blessings of his father, mother and gurus.
Kerala Press Acedemy chairman S.R. Sakthidharan presided over the function. A.Feroze, K.Suresh Kumar and Pratheesh Vaman also attended the function.
