Salim Kumar honoured at Alma Mater
National and State film best actor award winner Salim Kumar was honoured at Maharajs College Ernakulam, where he was graduated, by the Old Students Association. He was given a hearty welcome by the old students and teachers of the college.
Mammootty, alumni of the college, inaugurated the function. Mammootty in his speech said, he had often noticed the brilliance in Salim and has tried to study the way of his presentation, but he could able to learn it just recently only. ``My opinion is that a person who appears in comedy roles too has every right to be selected for the best actor award. A person who receives an award might not be a person who did the lead in the film. Examples are Balan K.Nair, Premji and Bharath Gopi. The award jury must be impressed with the acting and it is true, for that there should be the blessing of God too. A talented actor can not be neglected by anybody.''- Mammooty added.
Mammootty presented the gift to Salimkumar sponsored by the Association. Actor Baburaj, Tini Tom, Kalabhavan Anzar, K.S. Prasad, playback singer Biju Narayanan, Sajan, directors Ashish Abu, Amal Neerad, Anwar Rasheed, Vinod Vijayan and many other prominent people attended the function.
