Ramu Karyat award for Moahan Lal, Kavya, Kamal

Ramu Karyat award, instituted by Manappuram Financiers and Oruma, has been announced. Mohan Lal was selected for the best actor award (Pranayam ), Kavya is best actress (Gaddama) and Kamal is the best director for the film `Gaddama'. Best actor, actress and director award includes a purse of Rs. One lakh and a gold statuette. Veteran actor Madhu will receive comprehensive achievement award. Jayasurya will receive special jury award for his performance in `Beautiful'.
Other award winners: Best male playback singer is Vijay Yesudas (Ee puzhayum.-Indain Rupee), female playback singer is Manjari (Chinni Chinni.-Urumi) lyricist is Rafeeq Ahmed (Kannodu Kathoram.- Veeraputhran), music director award goes to M.Jayachandran (Paattil ee paattil- Pranayam).
The awards will be given out on April first week in a function at Thalikulam Snehatheeram in Thrissur. Awards were announced by T.N. Prathapan MLA, Manappuram group chairman V.P. Nanda Kumar, Oruma General Secretary C.A.Ahmed Rasheed and Thalikulam block panchayat president K.Dileep Kumar at a press meet in Thrissur
