Prithviraj apologises

Prithwiraj apologised to everyone, especillay to media, for not revealing the truth about his marriage, He was talking in a press meet at Thriruvanathapuram press club along with the crew of `Manikyakallu' on Tuesday. His wife Supriya Menon being a journailist of an International TV channel, she has been doing many assignmets in Kerala and he did not want to live her under the image of Prithwiraj's girl friend. Because such image would have affected her profession and this forced to keep their affair secret. For his case, he considered marriage a strictly private affair and did not want media to `celebrate' it.
He explained the situation as some persons from the media had severely criticised him for not revealing the love affair and marriage date.
Prithwiraj, who did the lead role in the latest release `Manikyakallu', said his character and the backdrop of the film reflected the society as such. The character Vinayachandran master is one of the best performances he made so far. Vinayachandran, a teacher who comes to a Government school in a remote village called Vannanmala and later builds a warm relationship with poor pupils studying there.
Director M. Mohanan said, students and teachers of today do not keep healthy relationship like past. Schooling started only at the age of five in olden days, but now schooling begins at the age of three, which normally calls for a better and warm realtionship. But unfortunately we do not find such close relationship between teachers and pupils. Mohanan said, his ambition was to become a teacher but later he realised that he won't make a good teacher.
Talking about the motive behind the idea of the film Mohanan said, he was inspired by his good old schooling days. There is a school in his home town Patyam, which showed very poor results earlier. But recently he visited this school and the teachers and pupils were completely changed and they told a different story. The school has been consistently producing enviable results. Teachers and students strived hard even on Saturday and Sunday that enabled the students to score good results. The initial reports of the movie show that he was able to convey the message to the audience, Mohanan added. Samvritha Sunil and producer Gireesh Lal also attended the press meet.
