Mohan Lal visits Azhikode
It was a meeting at the fag end of an `era'. Superstar Mohan Lal visited hours before the last breath of the great orator and littérateur Sukumar Azhikode at Amala hospital on Monday at Thrissur. Azhikode who was suffering from cancer passed away Tuesday morning at 6.40. Azikode and Mohan Lal became enemies after a comment by former on the standard of Malayalam cinema. Later the harsh words exchanged by them led to court last year in the form a defamation case. But the row ended a month back when Azikode was hospitalised. Mohan Lal expressed his regret and anguish over exchanging bitter words with the scholar whom he respected. Both had exchanged pleasantries over phone as well. But he did not turn up at Amala to visit master until now. Mohan Lal stood beside the death bed of Azhikode Master, amidst the surrounding crowd, looked at the closed eyes of the man who wrought great works and delivered great words. Spent about ten minutes there, Lal walked back and he said a few words "I spoke to him. He would have heard me, might have felt my presence".
