Kerala State Film Awards announced, Salim Kumar Best Actor, Syama Prasad Director, Adaminte Makan best Film

Minister K.B Ganesh Kumar announced Kerala state film awards 2010. The Jury headed by Buddadeb Das Gupta selected films and winners.

`Adaminte Makan Abu' adjudged best film. Salim Kumar, who won National award also got selected as winner of state award for the same film `Adaminte Makan Abu. Salim Kumar will be the first comedian to do serious role and to get selected for both awards.

Kavya Madhavan is the best actress for the film `Gaddama', directed by Kamal. Best director award is for Syama Prasad for his film `Electra'. Best story award went to Mohan Sharma (Gramam), best cinematographer award is shared by Shahnath Jalal (Chitrasoothram) and M.J. Radha Krishnan (Veetilakkulla vazhi'). Best script writer award is for Salim Ahmed, director of `Adaminte Makan Abu'.

Rafeeque Ahmed is the winner of best lyricist award (Sadgamaya), song is `Oru pooviniyum vidarum venalil..'. M.Jaya Chandran has won the award for best music score (Karayilekkoru Kadal Dhooram'), the song is `Chithra shalabhame....'. Issac Thomas Kottukapalli is the state award winner too for the back ground score for the same film `Adaminte Makan Abu' and also for `Sadgamaya'. Suraj Venjaramoodu is the best comedian for the film `Oru Naal Varum'. Hariharan is the winner of the award best male playback singer for the song `Paattu paaduvan mathram...'(Paatinte Paalazhi), best female singer award went to Raja Laxmi for the song `Olichirunne Onnicholichirunne..' for the film `Janakan'. Best classical music singer is Balamurali Krishna for the song `Iyar kaiannaiyil..'. in `Gramam'. Best debutant director award is for Mohan Raghavan for the film `T.D. Dasan Std VI B'. Ranjit film `Pranchiyettan and the Saint' won the best film award for artistic value and popular appeal. Krishna Padmakumar is the best child artiste for her performance in `Janaki', Sobhin K. Soman is the best editor (Pakarnnattam'), K.Krishnan Kutty won the the award for art direction (Yuga Purushan). Subhadeep Sen Guptha and Ajit M. George are the best sound recordists. Best makeup man award is for Pattanam Rasheed for the film `Yuga Purushan', costume award is for S.B. Satheesan (Yuga Purushan), dubbing artiste award (male) for Risabava (Karmayogi) and female is for Praveena (Electra). Best choreography award went to Madhu Gopinath and Sajeev Vaikom.

Second best feature film award is for`Makara Manju' directed by Lenin Rajendran. Best supporting actor is Biju Menon for his performance in `T.D Dasan Std VI B'. Mamta Mohandas is the best supporting actress for the film `Kadha Thudarunnu', directed by Sathyan Anthikad. Special jury award will be presented to Vidhin Vijay for the innovative approach he has displayed for his film `Chitrasoothram'. Jury made special mention for director Premlal for his film `Aatma Kadha' and actor Thalaivasal Vijay for his performance in `Yuga Purushan'.

A separate jury headed by O.K. Johny evaluating film literature selected Jose K. Manuel' s book `Thirakadha sahithyam: Saundaryavum Prasakthiyum and P.S Radha Krishnan's book `Charihthravum Chalathchitravum; Deshiya Bhavanayude Harsha Moolyangal', as joint winners for the award for the best book on film published during 2010. The award for the article on films will be shared by N.V. Sujith Kumar and Biju.
