Kavya Granted Divorce

The Ernakulam Family Court on Monday granted permission on the mutual divorce petition moved by actress Kavya Madhavan and Nishal Chandramohan. As part of the court proceedings both had arrived at the court separately on last Wednesday and the court recorded their statements.

The Judge Joseph Thekkekuruvinal in his verdict said that even though the court sent them to the counsellor, both of them stuck on to their stand they cannot go ahead together and they took the decision on their own. The couple submitted affidavit before the court that there were no cases pending before any court and an NOC will be submitted before the High Court where a harassment petition filed by Kavya is pending.

Kavya got married to Nishal on 2008 December 11 by special marriage act and the nuptial knot tied at Kollur Mookambika Temple on 2009 February 5.

After marriage, Kavya quit movies and went to Nishal’s apartment in Kuwait. But she returned June in same year due to her disagreements with Nishal and his family. She then filed a dowry harassment complaint with the High Court and divorce petition at Family Court.
