J .C Daniel cinema and serial awards announced; Mamootty, Navya best actors
Mamootty has been selected as best actor for the 2010 J.C. Daniel award, instituted by J. C. Foundation, for the film `Pranchiyettan and the Saint'. Navya is the best actress to receive this award (Yugapurushan). Best popular film award goes to `Pokkiri Raja', directed by Vysakh. Lal Jose is the best director (Elsamma Enna Aankutty).
Best supporting actor award is for Lalu Alex (Shikkar). Ambika Mohan is the best supporting actress and Samudrakani is the debutant actor (Shikkar). Debutante actress is Akhila for the film `Karyasthan'. Best lyricist award winner is Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri (Yugapurushan) and Berny Ignatius is the best music director (Karyasthan). Madhu Bala Krishnan was adjudged best male play back singer for the song ``Vridha vanamundo...'' (Yakshiyum Njanum). Female play back singer award winner is Rjalakshmi for the song `Olichirunnae..' in the film `Janakan'. Best female child artiste is Baby Anikha (Kadha Thudarunnu). Male child artiste is master Vivas (Best Actor). Salim Ahmed (Adaminte Makan Abu), Vineeth Sreenivasan (Malarvadi), Vysakh (Pokiriraja), Mohan Raghavan (T.D. Dasan Std V1 B), Martin Prakatt (Best Actor), Thomson (Karyasthan) and Mamas (Paappi Appacha) will receive the best debutant director awards.
Special award will be given to Ananya (Shikkar) and Janardhanan for various films. Special jury award will be given to Chembil Asokan and Mithra Kurien. Production controller award will be given to Sidhu Panakkal. Best political satire serial award is for `Chakkara Bharani' of Geeja Surendran. Best short story award goes to `Aathmahathyakku Mumbu', written by Sarayu in Kanyaka weekly. Subhash Chandran is the best novelist.
The award committe headed by Cartoonist Yesudasan and K. Roy, vice chairman, selected the winners. The award distribution function will be held on 17 of this month at Ernakulam Town Hall at 6 p.m.
