Devarajan master puraskar presented to P Susheela

This year's G. Devarajan-Sakthigadha Puraskar was presented to playback singer P.Suseela by poet and Jnanpith winner ONV Kurup at a function in VJT hall, Thiruvanathapuram, on March 14, Monday, Devarajan master's 5th death anniversary day.

The award includes a purse of Rs 10,000 and a citation.

P.Susheela in her reply speech said, she could not forget the encouragement given to her by master when she entered music field. On behalf of Sakthigadha, music director Johnson presented a gift to ONV Kurup.

Satheesh Ramachandran, Perumbuzha Gopalakrishnan, G. Sreeram, Ravi Menon and Selvaraj attended the function. Music troupe of Sakthigadha sang some of the songs composed by G. Devarajan master.

Photographer Jijo Paravoor and artist Jyothilal were honoured in the function.
