Cheating case against Meera Jasmine

A cheating case was filed against Meera Jasmine and Prtihwiraj by Karimbil Films as they did not return the advance money Rs. Five lakhs paid to them for the film `Swapnamalika', fours years back. Producer and director of `Swapna Malika', Karimbil films Devarajan filed the case in Kozhikode Chief Judicial Magistrate as both did not join the set.

Prithwiraj settled the issue when the court had sent summons to him. Meera's advocate P.V. Hari pleaded the court to give her some more time to settle the issue and Magistrate V.K. Rajan granted it.

Meanwhile, Meera has approached the High Court to quash the move of Karimbil Films, as the case was framed against her. She alleges that the move is unilateral and against the contract.
